Floating Command Center Desk (18 ft)

An 18-foot (216 in) floating Command Center desk built from RELIABILT boards, mounted straight to the wall on clean black brackets with no built-ins. The top sits 29 in off the floor with 45 degree chamfered corners. Above it are two stacked pairs of 5-foot shelves, one pair on each side, on black FastCap SpeedBrace 8 x 12 in braces. The lower shelves sit 14.5 in above the desk (46 in off the floor) and the upper shelves at 72 in, leaving 2.5 in of room under an 84 in ceiling. Roadmap coming soon.

Front view diagram of the 18 foot desk showing four black brackets centered at 28, 76, 140 and 188 inches, red dashed seam lines at 72 and 144 inches, and a 216 inch overall dimension.

Bracket spacing: 28 in from each end, then 48, 64 and 48 in apart. Seams at 72 and 144 in.

Angled view of the long pine desk top floating above its shadow, with the black bracket tips just visible underneath.

Once the seams are glued and bolted, the top reads as one long board.

View from below of one seam in the desk top, with the pine shown see-through. Five pairs of stacked wood biscuits run along the seam line, two red connector bolts sit in round pockets that straddle the seam, and a black wall bracket crosses the board beside it.

Under one seam: 10 biscuits in 2 stacked rows of 5, plus 2 connector bolts in 1-1/2 in pockets.

Free seam template: print-at-home and full size. The same marks work at both seams. Tape it on, mark your cuts, done.
